Garvald Celebrated as ‘Sector leading’ in Recent Care Inspectorate Reports

Garvald Edinburgh received short notice confirmation of Inspection visits to services in Edinburgh and Mayfield from our designated Care Inspector Stephen Ball, on behalf of the Care Inspectorate. These were the first inspection visits to our day services for a number of years.

The visits extended to all five service areas to the two registered services in Edinburgh and Mayfield over a number of days and was our first experience of the newly developed self-assessment model, and assessment in line with the Health and Social Care Standards: my support, my life.

We were delighted with the assessment ratings we received following the inspection with Services commended as sector leading and with a range of assessments graded at both 6- Excellent, across all areas and 5- Very good, across all areas at each of the two services, with the inspector noting the warmth of relationships, engagement and involvement of our members in what they were doing and the level of meaningful activity he saw.

We were delighted with this outcome with our CEO Mike Casey stating:

This outcome reflects the hard work and dedication of all our staff, members and our Board over time, and affirms that our model and the principles of Social Therapy in action can bring excellent outcomes for people – We are all delighted with this outcome”
